A project in which Società Metropolitana Acque Torino implements social responsibility not strictly tied to water service management activities.
This involves a memorandum of understanding for fraud prevention between SMAT and the Turin Provincial Carabinieri Command.
Increasingly, reports are coming from individuals claiming to be SMAT technicians, asking customers to enter their homes and claiming to collect bill payments, perform water checks, and/or perform technical work on individual homes. And more often than not, the victims are the most vulnerable, particularly the elderly.
SMAT and the Turin Provincial Carabinieri Command have developed a poster with tips for preventing scams. This poster, attached to the integrated water service bill, will allow all SMAT customers to be reached directly or indirectly, through condominium administrators.
This is another step I’m proud of, part of the company’s goal of having a positive social impact in the Turin metropolitan area.
