But is the quality of our relationships also improving?
This was the question we started with during the meeting of the Torino Social Impact Communities of Practice for Gender Equality and Communication, hosted by CasArcobaleno, on Tuesday, June 30.
A rich, open, and concrete discussion with many local organizations, along with Allegra Caputo (Collettivo Freeco) and Sabrina Scarpati (SynDiag), whom I thank for their input and shared perspectives.
We questioned what it really means to put the person at the center, “human in the loop,” when we use artificial intelligence in communication.
We talked about bias, language, representation, responsibility, but also about trust, listening, and participation.
Because communicating isn’t simply about producing content.
It means constructing meaning, making different people and perspectives visible, creating relationships, and strengthening communities.
AI can help us move faster.
But the quality of the questions, the ability to understand the context, recognize stereotypes, and consciously choose words remain a human responsibility.
Thanks to those who participated for the quality of the discussion, the questions, the shared experiences, and the willingness to question practices and languages.
It is precisely these spaces for dialogue that allow us to transform artificial intelligence into an opportunity to build more informed, pluralistic communication capable of generating trust. Or at least try.
