On Tuesday, June 10, a major project for the Borgo Dora neighborhood was inaugurated: the new sustainable urban drainage system built by SMAT, of which I am honored to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.
This infrastructure goes far beyond the technical aspect: it is an example of advanced environmental engineering, designed to address the effects of the climate crisis and make the city more resilient, livable, and inclusive.
The project is part of the “sponge city” vision, an urban model that aims to re-naturalize the urban landscape and enhance water as a resource, reducing the risk of flooding and increasing climate adaptation capacity.
Thanks to the people and institutions who made this project possible: urban innovation also starts with water.
