On the evening of November 25, Turin was painted orange, a symbol of hope and commitment to the fight against gender violence.
The City of Turin with the Mole Antonelliana, the University of Turin at its School of Management and Economics, the Polytechnic University of Turin, Iren at its AMIAT headquarters, SMAT with the Fontana dei Fiumi in Piazza CLN, CSI Piemonte, and Intesa San Paolo with its skyscraper joined the UN Women Unite – Orange the World initiative, which we promoted as UN Women Italy to raise awareness and mobilize everyone against violence against women.
This symbolic gesture unites public and private institutions.
At UN Women Italy, our goal is to ensure that symbolic acts are increasingly followed by concrete actions. We are building an alliance between different sectors—public, private, and the third sector—toward a single goal: the cultural change necessary to achieve gender equality.
Today, more than ever, it is crucial to strengthen our collective commitment to preventing and combating gender violence. The orange lighting that has invaded Turin is a powerful sign: together we can make a difference!
