Over 50 participants attended the second event of the STEM to BI series dedicated to the educational community, hosted by G&Q Sella High School.
An intense and well-attended meeting, at the heart of which was an open dialogue on how artificial intelligence is transforming society, work, and collective imaginations.
My presentation, as always, aimed to strengthen awareness and critical thinking regarding the risks and opportunities of AI: not only as a technology, but as a social phenomenon capable of amplifying existing inequalities, generating new forms of vulnerability, or offering an unmissable opportunity for new opportunities.
Massimo Righetti offered a complementary perspective, focusing on the practical use of these tools in the workplace. He emphasized how we are immersed in a transformational phase that is still in full swing, where scenarios and impacts remain difficult to predict and where maintaining clarity and the ability to adapt is crucial.
Young People Already Aware and Protagonists
The students from G&Q Sella High School were excellent moderators of the roundtable discussion.
They already demonstrated a significant level of awareness, which the STEM to BI project is working on, both regarding the impact of AI on the workplace and its environmental implications. There were concerns about the future, but even more strongly emerged the desire to be protagonists, to understand, and to actively participate in the ongoing changes.
Meetings like this also strengthen my personal motivation: to continue, through my daily outreach work, to contribute to building a collective conscience, capable of consciously and democratically guiding the technological choices that affect us all.
The initiative is organized by the Il Filo da Tessere Social Consortium and is part of the STEM to BI project, selected under the Polaris call and supported by the Digital Republic Fund – Social Enterprise.
