The first opportunity for us to concretely begin UN Women Italy’s activities is November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
UN Women has long since launched the UNiTE to End Violence Against Women awareness campaign worldwide. This campaign begins every year on November 25th, Orange the World, and ends on December 10th, International Human Rights Day, to highlight that gender-based violence constitutes a violation of human rights.
In past years, numerous institutions and organizations in our country have signed and supported this campaign in ways they deemed most appropriate. This year, we propose joining by adopting the Italian Orange the World – UNITE campaign, which we developed in collaboration with UN Women, thus promoting a unified message that strengthens its impact.
The strength of this campaign lies in the possibility of participating in different ways:
- involving your colleagues, relatives, and friends in sharing the materials developed on their social media channels;
- illuminating the building or buildings that are your workplace or that you consider most representative in orange during the campaign, especially on November 25th;
- providing concrete support for awareness-raising activities through partnerships with companies, universities, associations, and influencers;
- participating in the fundraiser we will organize on the dona.unwomenitaly.org page to further strengthen the Orange the World-UNiTE program of United Nations Women.
