Together with Chiara Sonzogni, I represented our research group, the Digital Territories and Communities Group, from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Turin, at the Biennale della Prossimità.
On October 4th, we organized the panel “Digital and Proximity,” featuring the extraordinary participation of Ezio Manzini, one of Italy’s leading experts on the topic. Special thanks to Ezio for his valuable contribution!
We explored how proximity can guide, hybridize, and support digital communities: on the one hand, digital technologies bridge distances, but on the other, they risk creating new barriers. We explored the importance of humanizing digital interactions and leveraging digital technologies for more fluid and inclusive modes of participation.
This is a line of research that is guiding many of our research group’s activities.
